Havana Blend Limited Edition is the third cigar from the Royal Danish Cigars family, which I had the pleasure to smoke. The first two: Viking Thor's Hammer and Valhalla, I think it's a great cigar, worth recommending to every aficionado. After the name Valhalla, I promised myself a deadly power, thanks to which I will spend time at a feast, among the bravest vikings, unfortunately I met a small profession on this matter. However, I began to germinate at the suspicion that the family of cigars signed with a royal coat of arms is a family that I like, because I can not find flaws in it.

The creator of the Royal Danish Cigars brand, Jan Vistisen, is regarded as a very social and cheerful person. Perhaps it is his character that gave the brand a "tone" and that is why they are the "soul of the company" among other cigars. It is certainly not without significance triple control process quality, which is supervised by Mr Vistisen in person.
Havana Blend Limited Edition cigar, I received from my best friend (thanks Maciej!), choć on sam otrzymał je w prezencie, znając moją słabość do królewskiej marki 🙂 przekazał je mnie. A jest to trzeba przyznać prezent wyjątkowy, ponieważ ilość cygar, które Jan Vistisen, it does not exceed 8,500 units per month.
Ring - the royal tradition obliges
The first ring (top) is a ring, you can say, standard. It contains information about the brand name, coat of arms, and the words "Grand Cru" and "Copenhagen 1813".
Cru means a microregion, so Grand Cru is the most beautiful microregion. Although historically, this name has its roots in winemaking, it has found a wider application. Cru is a piece of a vineyard with a kind of terroir - climate. Originally, this concept was created on the occasion of the creation of a wine classification system in France in 1855.
It was in 1855 that the Wine Broker Association of Bordeaux presented a list of classified wines (the so-called grand cru classé).
The Danish King Frederik VI gave permission for the production of the first cigar in January 1813 in Copenhagen - which reminds us of the second inscription on the upper ring.

Double ring - front
The ribbon should be hidden under the bottom ring
Double ring - right side
Double ring - left side - connecting rings
A coat found on the ring, a bit perversely to the name of the brand, not at all does not have a crown crown associated with royal crowns. Over the coat of arms, we find a crown, called in the heraldic crown or awnings Polish noble crown. On the sides, two holders in the form of lions, whose heads face the coat of arms. The whole is placed on a black background with golden accents made in the embossing technique (convex printing).

The bottom ring to which the "silk" ribbon is attached contains information from Havana Blend Limited Edition and 100% Cuban Seed Tabacco. On the reverse of the ring we find the address of the website dedicated to this brand: www.havana-blend.com. Unfortunately, the site no longer exists and was taken over by the cigar club in Tallinn (this is not very good for the Royal Danish Cigars marketing department). Ribbon freely passes under the upper ring, so it can be easily removed. Some see it as a practical tool to remove the rings, but I did not find it in any way.
Cuban Puro that Kuba did not see

Havana Blend 100% Cuban Seed Tabacco, consists of raw materials 100% from Cuba, wyhodowanych w Nikaragui. Mamy, więc do czynienia z kubańskim Puro, które nie było na Kubie 🙂 , but it is Cuban to the "bone marrow".
About Royal Danish Cigars - where did cigars come from in Denmark?
It all began with a pand 250 years ago, when part of West Indies "belonged" to the Kingdom of Denmark. The Danish King Frederik VI, in 1813, issued a license for the production of the first cigars. However, a real fan of cigars, it turned out a bit later ruler of Denmark, king Christian IXhe had the raw material for cigars, the first experience in production behind him, so the cigar Danish ross began. At the request of the Royal Court of Denmark, the cigars were named in honor of its height: Royal Danish Cigars.

The King of Denmark had the habit of sending cigars as diplomatic gifts, wherever the Kingdom of Denmark had interests, so they appeared all over the world, and to all of their relatives. And he had impressively many, including his grandson Tsar of Russia Nicholas II. Because King Christian IX is now called "The father of Europe" (by the more malicious "father-in-law of Europe"), so many of his descendants reigned or reigns on the European royal or princely thrones, among others Denmark, Russia, Great Britain, Greece, one can say that Royal Danish Cigars is a truly aristocratic brand with a still living monarchist tradition.
God save the King!
If we ever received an invitation to hunt, in the company of Prince Charles, in the area
Sandringham, in East England, we can be calm and confident of personal success. God save the King!
Smoking
Opening v with the cutter, I chose because of the perfect string that can be obtained in this way. Small formats usually roll up tight - I had such previous experiences. However, you can easily open this cigar in any way, the filler's curl is great, ensuring proper air flow at every type of opening.
Atmospheric conditions: temperature 18 ° C (felt about 16 ° C), wind, atmospheric pressure: 1015 hPa.
Lighting
enkindle it did not cause a problem. Although, through the small format of a cigar, I had the impression that immediately "I will burn my mustache" everything went well. The cigar has an excellent string.
The first cigar strokes, confirmed its technical quality - very even combustion.

The first third "hay" (burning time: 10 minutes)
In the first third, uneven burning appeared, probably by a fairly strong wind. It did not require a correction. A great clear cigar from the first smoke. The strong aroma of cedar and pepper.

The second third "sky" (burning time: 20 minutes)
In the second period the pepper disappeared completely, but the notes of the skin appeared, cedar is obligatory with us all the time. I'm starting to feel the "power" of a cigar.

Third "hell" (burning time: 20 minutes)
The third third brought in aromas additional flavor of nuts and something sweet - which I could not associate. You definitely feel "power", you have to degas the cigar from time to time to regain milder aromas in the smoke.

Smoke and ash
Dym słodki, bogaty, bardzo przyjemny, choć w końcówce dość wymagający. Dobrze wyczuwalne aromaty w nosie. Popiół jasny, sztywny w strukturze, do utrzymania na cygarze w ramach tercji tyko przy odrobinie wprawy. Mi niestety dość często spadał – więc uwaga na koszule i spodnie 😉

In one word
Medium cigar in power. Burning time: 50 min. Very clear aromas. You can easily recommend it for every aficionado will be a nice gift. In my subjective scale of power 5/10, and quality for the price of 7/10. It could be produced in larger formats. I would recommend!
