Q. The most frequently asked question by beginners is: "Is it copies?" And right at the same breath "How much?"
Yes Yerba Mate is kicking, but unlike coffee. Yerba in short is xanthine, and coffee is caffeine (one of the three xanthine derivatives). Other derivatives of xanthine are theobromine (it is in dark chocolate) and theophylline (it is in tea). And in Yerba? Everything is in Yerba. You will certainly find information on the Internet that Yerba has a matein. Mateina is the colloquial name of a xanthine coined by lovers of Yerba Mate. The effectiveness of Yerba comes from the content of all xanthine derivatives, supplemented with many antioxidants and minerals, e.g. a powerful dose of magnesium and potassium - which rinses the coffee, causing fatigue.
How much "copies" of Yerba? It depends on the variety. The strongest are: Yerba mate Taragui Energia (unadulterated guarana, etc.) and mixtures of yerba with various accelerators the most popular are guarana and mint, e.g. Yerba mate CBSe Energy Guarana.
If you're looking for a bungee jump, then Yerba is not for you. Drinking strong coffee from the coffee machine will be much more useful in the category of quick stimulation. Yebra works slowly for a lot longer and instead of masking the feeling of tiredness, it simply eliminates them. After a day of work in the office, you will feel the difference only in the evening. Yerba will guarantee you lack of tiredness and desire for "life" and coffee will guarantee you the desire for the next coffee.
Q. Where to drink Yerba Mate?
It guarantees that you can drink it in everything. I drank everything that was possible (except for the hollow cow). The vessel for Yerba is called matero. I recommend all pottery vessels. Forget gourds, guampos of all kinds (from the corner of a cow, to wooden versions), or metal-clad palo santo, etc.
Why ceramics? Because the easiest way to keep it clean. The shape depends on your preferences. Personally, I like the material in the shape of: classic - calabash, diamond, thermal mug.
Each shape has its own advantages. Classic - it suits every bombilla (metal tube). Diamond - has a large capacity. Thermal mug - it has a large capacity but above all fits perfectly in cup holders in the car.
I still have a thermos to drink yerba mate - so-called Yerbomos. Unfortunately, I think that this invention is not very successful. It does not fit into the cup holders in the car - this is the most useful use of yerbomos for me. In addition, after tipping it has a tendency to flow.
Q. What is this metal tube and is it necessary?
The metal tube is a bombilla, and so it is necessary :). The choice of bombilla is enormous. From bamboo versions to metal with various types of tips, to pure silver versions.
Do not be crazy. The most practical is a metal bombilla (possibly from alpaca) with a spoon tip. For 15 years of drinking Yerba, I had a dozen bombillas. I am most pleased with a spherical shaped bombilla made of alpaca. It fits all Yerba types and does not clog.

Q. What is the choice for Yera to start with?
The taste of Yerba Mate is a purchased taste - that is you have to learn it. If you do not like dry flavors, classic Yerba may be distasteful to you. It will be wise to buy two Yerbaes for starters. The first classic with a mild taste, e.g. Amande and Yera flavored naturally, e.g. Wild Power.
Do not buy one kilo Yerba packages right away. A 0.5 kg pack will be a good start. Pouring about 2/3 of the material, a 0.5 kg package is enough for about 17 servings. That's two weeks of drinking. Either you like Yerbera or not :). In the first case, you will start to buy larger packages, in the second you will not be sorry to throw away.
My personal top 3 yerba mate:
- amanda - mild taste, medium power
- Rosa Monte - more demanding in taste, the power depends on the type (despalada - strong, suave - mild)
- Taragui + Energy - mild in taste, high power
Q. How to drink Yerbera?
It's really simple.
- Put Yerba into the material - about 2/3 of the material
- Put your hand on top of the matero and turn it upside down a few times - let the smallest leaves fall down and the thicker ones stay on top - thanks to this, the bombilla will not clog. After the last turn, leave it slightly tilted to place the bombilla on it
- Place bombs on Yerbe and pour over water (hot - not more than 80 degrees, or cold). Do not mix the bombilla, because it will clog.
- The first flooding will soak up after a few minutes in the drought of Yerba, so only the second flooding will be for you. Overwhelm Yera and drink as long as you feel the taste.
Ready! That's all. Enjoy your meal!

Starter pack
Dried poured into the material
Bombilla located on the drought
Pouring water
Ready Yerba Mate
Matero in the shape of a thermal mug
Q. How much does it cost?
The starter kit can be purchased for around PLN 50-60. Is this a lot? I think not. It is the cost of several coffees for Orlen, and if you like it, next time you will not need to buy matero and bombilla, so it will come out cheaper.
I recommend two stores:
- Yerba Mate Store - very fast shipping, interesting discount and point program, a wide range of everything related to Yerba Mate.
- Poyerbani - a wide range of matero and bombilia
