Ewczana's birthday
Recently, during Ewczan's birthday, there were eight single candles and one in the shape of a figure eight on the cake. To Ewczan, it was very important for individual candles, because each one was burning in a different color, and the candle in the shape of an eight made Dad from two tealights, so it was also necessary to be on the cake. As justification, such extravagance, Ewczan, she said: "Because it's so cool!" Meanwhile, Tymczyn, seeing the cake, proved that the exact sciences can sleep well, because he asked: "Is Ewczan surely has an 88 birthday today?"
Unlimited dreams
Together with Licówka, we try not to limit the development of our children. Like Richard Branson's parents, we repeat them: "Stop telling me that you will do something, just do it." Like regular coaches, with good corpo, we repeat that there are not too many dreams, and that they can achieve anything they want, if they only start to do it.
Tymczan and his logic
One summer evening, Tymczan timidly appeared in my field of vision. So he pushed his way through the hall. He always does that when he has an important case. A shy appearance in the field of view resembles a scene from the Matrix, the one in which Neo can see, twice the same cat.
Taught by experience, I decided to "lure" Tymczan closer. At the second passage through the corridor, I asked him to come over and see some movie on my computer.
All that is left now is to wait. Tymchenski pared for a moment that he was very interested in something out there, and quickly went to the heart of the team, asking:
- Dad, do you know what I would like to get for my birthday in half a year? (after a pause on my part, he answered himself). A gaming phone.

For the sake of clarity: Tymczan's dream was not the result of his "dissolution". Our kids, most things have to earn, (you can read about it here) and in principle they know the value of hard work for PLN 1. His dream came from an iron logic: if dreams have no limits - I want to have a gaming phone. After all, "there are no limitations in dreams", that's what parents say - pure logic.
Mobilization
Hearing the Tymowa's dream, the officer in charge of the Parent's Headquarters, in my head, announced the fourth degree of DEFCON and began to launch, the stoppages of the basic defense procedure:
Step 1. Do not show uncertainty. Action: Answer in a calm voice "Nice idea!"
Step 2. Gain time. Action: ask "Have you thought about it?" Or in really heavy cases "And what are your other three ideas for a gift?"
Step 3. Make the best decision in the time provided, or start pretending to be a catatonic coma.
Thanks to this, I have obtained an invaluable moment to prepare a response, saving the years of educational work:

Because there are not too many dreams
There are not too big dreams. Why should we determine the value of our children's dreams? Imagine their probable future. Perhaps they will not ask for a well-deserved hike at work "because they are not worth enough." They will not get the dream girl or boy, because they do not deserve them. Why? Because they have, by somebody (today through us, then through their subconsciousness), a certain value. Instead of limiting our children, let's help them in choosing the right path. Let's help them find the right addressee of dreams, in 9 cases out of 10 of them.
